How to get scooty license in Nepal

Motorbikes and scooters are becoming more and more popular and common among Nepalese people.  If this trend will continue, one day these vehicles might be a basic needs for people. As they are affordable and fastest way for short travel, they are preferred over cars and other four wheelers.  Now I will write about getting a scooty license in Nepal in few easy steps.

  1. First of all, you need to fill a form which is easily available at transport department at ekantakuna, Lalitpur. You can easily navigate your way through Google map.  These form are available for Rs 5, which is affordable. You should fill your info regarding your name, address and other details.  Finally you should paste a ticket which you can buy there at transport department. You should also attach the photocopy of citizenship along with your blood report you've checked at hospital. If you don't have blood report, you can have your blood tested over there but pay a small amount.
  2. Keep in mind that the form submission day for scooter is Sunday and only Sunday.  There might be a lot of people who want to get their license so, to get your turn, you should go early at around 4 in the morning, else you might not get the chance to submit your form and unfortunately should wait till next Sunday.  So, be there at around 4 and stay in the queue.  You might get your chance to submit your form according to the position in the queue. So, good luck with that.
  3. Once,  you get your turn, and submit the form,  they will take your photo and fingerprints, which will be digital.
  4. Then, they will inform you the room no. Where you should pay the fee for written exam, which will be held the next day i.e on Monday. If think the price is around 150-200, I forgot.
  5. You better reach the exam center, which is the same place early because you can take your exam in the first place and won't be delayed. The question are easy,  2 subjective question and other are objective. You'll have to tick. The result will be published at around 5 in the evening.  You can visit the website of transport department  for your result. http://www.dotm.gov.np/en/
  6. If you passed, you're lucky.  The next day i.e on Tuesday, you need to be at trolley bus station, Minbhawan, early at 7 or 8 am for your trial exam.  Well, and if you passed your trail, you'll be called at ekantakuna after 4 days to get a ticket and should pay rs 700 for that ticket, which will work as a temporary license.  For original one, you should wait for at least a month. Then, finally to get a license, you should bring your temporary license and exchange it with an original one.
  7. If you have any questions regarding this topic, please comment down below. Thank you. And good luck with your license.
