LAPTOP OR COMPUTER HANGING PROBLEMS | CAUSES AND FIX

In this day and age, all the work is almost always assisted with computer devices, therefore in terms of the work you are required to complete a task in a quick, precise and true. Any good laptop performance is absolutely necessary to maintain the productivity of your work. But what if your laptop or computer you are having problems such as the problem of hang? Maybe you've had an experience while working with the computer, open documents or run other applications such as games, suddenly your
computer become a hang (error), and the application that you open does not respond at all. The cause of laptop computer not responding not only in terms of hardware, but from the system should always be kept and fixed. 

If possible, you can press CTRL + ALT + DEL to open Windows Task Manager and select the application that is Not Responding and was forcibly shut down by pressing the End Task. However, if your computer still hangs or crashes, the only way that we can do is to reset the computer by force (hard reset-restart by pressing the button or the power button) and turn it back on. But if after a while the computer is running into hang again, the following is the likely cause of your laptop or computer hangs;

1.      SOFTWARE

The cause of the computer often hang is software that we install does not support system operations. For that check in advance whether the PC OS (Mac, Windows 7/8/10, etc.) and check the system requirement for hardware.

2.      VIRUS

In addition to software, the virus also plays a role in making strange behavior on your computer or laptop. The workings of a virus is to undermine and remove some important support of a program, or modifying a variable value causing some programs cannot run normally. Therefore, it is important if the computer with the antivirus always updated. Keep your laptop from a wide variety of virus attacks with the best antivirus software.

3.      POWER SUPPLY

The less adequate electrical power may result in your computer not functioning to its full potential. Check the power, use the power stabilizer such as UPS. Sometimes the computer hangs because the power supply is damaged, although it is not completely dead, causing power shortages in power supply could cause computer performance slows down even a computer to hang and some equipment USB not detected or not functioning.

4.      HARD DRIVE

There are some problems on the hard drive that cause your computer to hang, such as:

-       The capacity of the Hard Drive Shows “Low Space”

The capacity of a hard disk that is full, especially on a drive where we install the system operations, such as drive C will greatly affect the speed of the laptop itself, so make sure there is still enough blank space there.

To overcome this problem we used to run Disk Cleanup to clean the hard drive of files or temporary junk files. How to run Disk Cleanup: click start – run – type: cleanmgr

-       The data on the hard drive is fragmented so it needs to defrag

The information on the hard drive will slowly shrink over time computer usage that may cause computer crashes.

Defragment the hard drive should be done every month to prevent a computer crash. How to defragment a hard disk (for windows 7):

a.       Click Start-All Programs-Accessories-System Tools-Disk Defragmenter

b.      Click Analyze

c.       Click Defragment to begin the Disk defrag hard drive

-       Hard drive bad sector

Bad sectors or bad block is a term used to refer to the area that was damaged on the hard drive. Bad sectors on hard drive in general, there are two kinds, i.e. bad sectors physically and bad sectors in software. Bad sectors physically occurs due to damage to the parts of the plate that can happen due to hard drive hard drive exposed to dust, drop, hard hit by the crunch and so on. Whereas bad sectors in software may occur when the hard drive was working and then the computer dies unexpectedly, for example due to a power outage.

5.      RAM

RAM (Random Access Memory) memory capacity damaged or less often a factor in the computer to hang. Check back to the actual memory that is installed on your computer or laptop with memory capacity that is unreadable by your computer. Because sometimes we put up some memory chips but only one unreadable pieces only. Some memory that is used but not identical (same type and capacity) instead of even speed up your computer but rather slow and make hang your computer.

6.      VGA CARD IS DAMAGED

Some computers also can hang because there is damage on the VGA card. Possible causes there are VGA card heatsink on which heat is not normal. Therefore, VGA cards need to be replaced so that the condition of the computer becomes normal again.
